Schmittenhöhenbahnen / Sonnenalm /
Areitbahn /City X-press:
1 ride aboard Schmittenhöhebahn cable car to the summit within six days. All other lift and cable car facilities in service can be used any numer of times.
Pleasure boat trip on the lake Zell
1 pleasure boat cruise of approximately 1 hour (boarding entry only 10 walking minutes away from the hotel) with wonderful view to the mountains and glacier.
Alpine Reservoirs in Kaprun
Can be visited by any number of times.
Discover the fascination Alpine world of the Hohe Tauern mountain range. Your journey starts at the mountain inn Kesselfall: panorama busses and Europe's largest open inclined lift take you up the mountain - through ston tunnels, along the bed of waterfall and upt to Moosersperre retaining wall at an altitude of 2.040 m. Come and experience the harmonious interaction of nature and technology!
Lidos in Zell am See
Summer bathing paradise: the three lidos in the districts Zell am See, Thumersbach and Seespitz offer solar-heated pools and guarantee for bathing fun in one of Europe's cleanest lakes. Opening times: from middle of May to middle of September. You have free entrance to all lidos. The next lido is only 5 walking minutes away from our hotel. You also can take the free bus to the others.
Glacier cable car in Kaprun
The Gipfelbahn cable car (3.029 m) can be used once. All other oparating cable cars to Alpincenter (2.450 m) can be used any number of times. Surrounded by the highest summits of Austria, Kitzsteinhorn opens a spacious world where mountains and glacier display their incomparable beauty. Look forward to fun in the snow in the summer months, to a breathtaking and absolutely spectacular panoramic view from Austria's highest observation platform
NationalparkWorlds Hohe Tauern, Mittersill
Free entrance in this fabulous exhibtion NationalparkWorlds in Mittersill. On your tour you will wander through eight rooms whisch display fascinating scientific highlights including the evolution of the Alps, the flight of the majestic eagle as well as amazing details of the glacier world. This place is a must-see for lovers of nature, hobby scientists and families.
Krimmler waterfalls
With an altitude of 380 metres the Krimmler waterfalls are the fifth highest waterfalls in the world. The unique walking path and its lookout points and platforms guarantee you a close-up view of this stunning natural spectacle. Can be visited any number of times.
Wildlife Park Ferleiten
The park is located in a romantic high mountain valley and grants you you a breathtaking panorama view. On convenient paths, you can stroll through the wildlife park and meet the animal inhabitants of the region. Free entrance to the 20.000 square metre large theme park with more than 40 thrill rieds and toys.
Adventure Sawmill „Mühlauer“
The Adventure Sawmill in Fusch on Glocknerstrasse Alpine Road can look back on a turbulent history of more than 100 years. Here you can learn everything about wood, the forest as a biocoenosis and its function as a recreational area on two floors. Can be visited any number of times.
Maiskogel gondola Kaprun
Maiskogel is the ultimate family mountain in the heart of Kaprun. Its lush green meadows, its clear brooks and an ample network of hiking trails invites you to take a walk, go on a cycling tour or just sit back and relax. And stunning views at Kitzsteinhorn, the Hohe Tauern mountain range and Lake Zell are another additional treat. You can use the lift in service as often as you like. Also the public bus stops at the valley station of Maiskogel and is for free.
Sigmund Thun-Gorge Kaprun
Free entrance to the gorge. The river dug itself 32 metres deep into the ground and left behind strikingly smooth surfaces and natural whirlpools. You move along narrow rock faces across wooden catwalks and numerous other bridges. Make sure not to miss the white water spectacle of Kaprun's Ache River.
Vorderkaser gorge St. Martin
Free entrance to the gorge. Your walk will take you over 51 catwalks, 35 stairs and as many as 373 individual steps. On your way to the gorge you will pass a protected valley - a magnificent recreational and bathing area.
Kitzlochklamm gorgeTaxenbach
Free entrance to the gorge. On their round tour, you can marvel at nature's beauty here. In 2008 the passage to Rauris and Embach was opened again: there, you can walk across a spectacular bridge crossing the roaring waters.
Seisenberg gorge Weißbach
The gorge is about 600 metres long and 50 metres deep and you are let through this nature's spectacle on perfectly developed catwalks. Considered as the gate to the nature park Weißbach, Seisenberg gorge is the perfect starting point for many walking tours. And mybe you will even meet the spirit of the gorge. Free entrance to the gorge.
Tourist mine Leogang
At the oldest mine in the entire province of Salzburg, you have the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of medieval miners who faced extremely tough working conditions underground. Bent over and walking in Indian file, you will discover the galleries with an experienced guide who lets you in on the most important details of iron ore exploitation and the 600-year-old history of mining. Free entrance to the tourist mine.
Mining museum Leogang
At the museum in the former mining village of Hütten, you can look forward to listening to interesting stories and learning more about the 500-year-long history of mining. The centrepiece of the museum can be found in the subterranean annex building: a collection of Gothic mining saints, panel and glass paintings, furniture and crafts from the Middle Ages. Free entrance to the Mining museum.
Museum of local history at Schloss Ritzen Saalfelden
The museum is one of the most renowned institutions in the province of Salzburg and has been awarded the Museum Hallmark of Excellence. On four floors, the exhibition includes votive tables, exhibits from rural living culture and tradition as well as objects from archaeology, geology and mineralogy. Free entrance.
