Cool Kids Fun is a fantastic weekly program for children aged 5 and up.
In the Zell am See–Kaprun region, we offer activities that combine the perfect mix of fun, adventure, and nature experiences.

Please register at the hotel reception by 11:00 a.m. on the previous day at the latest.

Family Day – Alpaca Hike with Gold & Gemstone Search

The alpacas and the llama Rocky invite you to a special trekking experience!
Along the green Salzach River, where gold prospectors were already at work centuries ago, you can search for gold and precious little gemstones. Look forward to a cozy camp by a crystal-clear mountain stream and to grilling your own marshmallows.

You are guaranteed to keep the treasures you find – and together with our animals, we usually head home quite “rich in stones.” We are true gold seekers!

Adventure at Burg Kaprun

An unforgettable morning awaits little princes, princesses, and brave knights.

Together, we set off on an exciting journey through the mysterious castle, solving riddles during a treasure hunt. After a small refreshment, we design and paint our own coat of arms before the knighting ceremony takes place. Look forward to a truly unforgettable adventure at Kaprun Castle!

Experience Day at a Farm with Bread Baking

Discover the fascinating world of the farm and enjoy exciting adventures for the whole family! Bread baking is on the program – learn how to make your own delicious loaf of bread.

Have you ever wondered how butter is made? Find out firsthand and join in churning butter. You will also learn where cows live, how they are cared for, and of course how to milk a cow properly. With our mobile milking cow, you even get the chance to try milking yourself and see who is the best milker!

Climbing

You will make your first climbing attempts on a climbing tower with different levels of difficulty.
This requires a bit of courage while improving coordination and agility. Older children are also allowed to take on some responsibility by helping with belaying. Most importantly, fun always comes first!

Experience Day with Horses

Our program gives children the opportunity to spend an unforgettable time with horses and deepen their love for them.
From 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., children enjoy a variety of activities that introduce them to handling horses in a playful way. From grooming and getting to know the animals to leading the horses, our experienced supervisors are always on hand to guide and support them—ensuring they enjoy every minute while learning a great deal about these fascinating animals.

Enjoy exciting adventures and cheerful stories in a cozy atmosphere. Our films are specially selected for children and promise a wonderful time. Step into the magical world of children’s cinema at Kaprun Castle!

Goldpanning in Rauris

Family-friendly: Perfect for families who want to have fun together and discover real treasures.

Gold panning: With professional guidance, you and your children will learn how to pan for gold in the water.

Mineral washing: A special highlight is mineral washing, where even the youngest adventurers can find selected gemstones – with a guaranteed find!

Equipment included: Gold pans and all necessary equipment for mineral washing are provided.

At Gemstone Park Niedernsill, visitors can search to their heart’s content for more than 100 different precious and semi-precious stones from all over the world and take them home. Whether at the gold and gemstone basin, the emerald lake, or the mineral beach, the search for colorful stones promises fun and relaxation at the same time.

Find polished precious and semi-precious stones, look for raw stones, or exchange discovered pearls for special gemstones such as amber, garnet, or decorative stones.

Time Out with Horses

A special experience for children and adults to learn valuable insights about horses. It’s about awareness, connection, and enjoyment—because time spent with a horse is so much more than just riding.

In the midst of our often hectic daily lives, this time out offers space to pause, listen, and recharge—gaining new energy and a genuine sense of connection.

Offroadpark at the Schmitten

How about exciting model vehicle action on the Schmittenhöhe? For young and young-at-heart visitors, a very special off-road park awaits in the area of the areitXpress mountain station. Using remote-controlled model cars—also known as “crawlers”—you’ll take on a specially designed obstacle course.

Equipped with an easy-to-use remote control, a robust model vehicle, and a brief introduction on how to use both, the fun can begin right away. Action and enjoyment are guaranteed!

Flying Fox at the High Mountain Reservoires

The dream of flying between the Höhenburg viewpoint and the Mooser Dam becomes reality with this spectacular attraction. It offers children and adults alike an unforgettable flight, surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery and sparkling water. Secured by an experienced team, you glide along a sturdy steel cable to your destination.

Sports, Play & Fun with Horses

At the Ziegelhütte in Taxenbach, children get to know horses and ponies from the ground up in a playful way. Together they paint, craft, do gymnastics, ride, and laugh— including decorating horseshoes, fun pony games, and cozy sausage grilling around the fire bowl.
