The free ski bus stops right outside the Sporthotel Alpenblick every 15 minutes and then you are just 2 minutes away from the Areitbahn, which takes you to the ski area at the Schmittenhoehe.

The ski season in Zell am See-Kaprun starts in early autumn and lasts until early summer, which means that skiers and snowboarders on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier get to enjoy ten full months of deep snow-covered pistes in Austria to practice on.

Skiing in Zell am See-Kaprun – three variety-packed mountains and 138 kilometres of pistes. As well as the Schmittenhoehe which has 77 and the Kitzsteinhorn which has 41 kilometres of pistes, there is the family mountain, the Maiskogel, which provides 20km of pistes and fantastic winter adventures. For all ski pros the Schmittenhoehe and the Kitzsteinhorn provides steep slopes and spectacular descents. But don’t worry – there are also plenty of pistes which have different difficulty levels too! 

On the Maiskogel and the Schmittenhoehe the emphasis is on our little visitors. Those who have a thirst for adventure are very well catered for in Zell am See-Kaprun too. The ski bus takes you quicker from mountain to mountain in the ski area and there is no charge when you have a valid ski pass. Not a pro skier?
